Dafina Genova

Dafina Genova is a Professor of English at the Department of British and American Studies at the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. Her research interests are in semantics, pragmatics, humour studies and cognitive linguistics. She has published over 60 articles in peer-reviewed journals in Bulgaria and abroad. Her recent publications are on the visual-verbal interface and humour in political cartoons, internet memes and print advertisements. Prof. Genova is the author of three books: On Meaning Representation and Use of Language (in Bulgarian) (1997), Studying Humor Seriously (2011) and ‘Did You Get What I Said?’ or How the Speaker Uses Language (2015).
